How do I look up a ham radio callsign?
Type any callsign and HamDaily shows the operator’s name, location, and grid square, sourced from HamDB. For a callsign without a record, it falls back to the DXCC country from the prefix so you still know where the station is.
Where does the callsign data come from?
HamDB.org is the primary source (strong for US/FCC licensees). When it has no record — common outside North America — HamDaily falls back to HamQTH.com, which has good international coverage. For QSL routes, photos, and biographies, QRZ.com is a great complement.
Can I use this to run a net?
Yes — that’s what it’s built for. Each callsign you look up is logged to a running “net check-ins” roster (call, name, location, grid). The roster is saved in your browser, so you can copy it for your log or clear it when the net ends.
Why didn’t a callsign return a name?
HamDB may not have a record for some international, brand-new, or privacy-restricted callsigns. When that happens, HamDaily still identifies the DXCC country from the callsign prefix.
Is the callsign lookup free?
Completely free, no login. Lookups are cached, so repeat queries during a net are instant.
